One would think that these highly anticipated, big-budget movies will stop being the centre of attention for Courts and High Courts by now but it just doesn’t seem to end. One of the most highly-awaited movies of the year, Dhoom: 3’ seems to be one at the moment and has made a plea for an order from the Delhi High Court stating that the ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will have to block several websites, within 48 hours, which will illegally show the film or the URL (link) of the Yash Raj Films’ product. Justice M.L. Mehta passed an order (John Doe order) to block any illegal showing of this movie after they received a written complaint.
The film, featuring actors Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif, asked the Court to issue the order of no illegal viewing of the movie and have worked hard to implement it. However, we believe that ISPs or URLs cannot change what the computer users can or cannot access, it is the user ethics whether to watch a movie online or not.
