What's it about!

The story is about three young couples set in Hyderabad. Story1: Randy (Harshvardhan Rane), a singer, runs coffee shop. A student Sarayu (Vithika Sheru), who works at orphanage in her free time, asks him to perform at their college, when he refuses, she follows him daily and makes him agree finally.  Love blossoms later but…

Story2: Radio Jockey Arjun (Harish Varma) is a playboy. He falls for a software engineer Shanti (Sree Mukhi) who comes to Hyderabad from Chennai. She resents him first. Later, when he expresses that he loves her sincerely, she lays some conditions to win her heart.

Story 3: A rural guy Royal Raju (Sri Vishnu) lands in Hyderabad at his friend's house and gets a job as assistant director in a film. His sole aim to come to Hyderabad is to win the love of a girl who smokes and boozes like him. He falls for the hep and modern minded costume designer on the film set Sameera (Ritu Varma).

How these stories end is the basic plot of the movie.

Analysis

Love Ishq Kadhal is a love story from debutant director Pavan Sadineni. Ever since Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days became a big hit, stories revolving around three or four couple and their romantic travails are releasing in Tollywood at regular interval. This film has no novel storyline but the new director has made it with absolutely peppy music and keeps you engaged in later part of the movie. The film begins on a wobbly path but progresses briskly and you get the feel of it. Songs make you forget the initial inertia in sequences.

What I specifically liked is the 'third act' in the second half. Especially the young director needs to be appreciated the way he ended the movie. A complete different climax for this kind of rom-com!

Sequences involving a movie hero are funny. Apart from peppy music, this low-budgeted movie also is aided by pleasant cinematography. On the downside, there are too many clichéd scenes and plot is flimsy.

Performances

Harshavardhan and the guy who played RJ Harish Varma have done justice to their roles. It is Sri Vishnu who steals the show with his village guy antics. He looks innocent and is perfect to that role. Among the three girls, Ritu Varma as costume designer wins with her glamour and some spark. Sri Mukhi and Vithika are okay. Rajesh as a film hero and Ravi as Harsha's friend provide some comedy. Bhanu as a movie director is good.

Music by Sravan is backbone to this film. All songs are trendy and in sync with the urbane theme of the movie. His background score is also perfect. Karthik Ghattamaneni's camera work is another plus point to the movie. Editor should have tightened the pace of the movie in the beginning and chopped off some unnecessary scenes. I liked the dialogues in the climax as the film ended with a note - Jeevitam Aagakudadu..Sagipovali. Production design and values are very good.

Debutant Pavan Sadineni as writer and director passes the muster.

Bottom line!

Prema Ishq Kadhal.. Urban love story peppered with superb music. A different climax for a romcom. Time pass flick. Music (all songs) and pleasant cinematography are its strength.
