First Indian film to Cross Rs 500 crore!


Shattering previous Box Office records, Aamir Khan's latest offing Dhoom 3 has scripted history by becoming the first Indian film and first Hindi film to gross Rs 500 crore across the world, Yash Raj Films claimed on Wednesday.

The action thriller starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan has set cash registers ringing at the marquee. Going by production house's statement, the blockbuster raked in Rs 500 crores by making Rs 351.29 crores in India and Rs 150.06 crores abroad. It is the third installment of Dhoom series. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Aditya Chopra produced this money spinner.

The movie has surpassed the previous highest-grossing Bollywood film Chennai Express starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. With this, it is clearly evident that Indian Cinema is expanding its base and growing bigger day-by-day.
