Music Director Chakri Dies of Heart Attack


Telugu music director Chakri, 40, passed away following a massive heart-attack. Chakri breathed his last on Monday in a private hospital. Chakri's untimely death has shaken the Telugu film industry. 
Chakradhar Gilla (known as Chakri) (born 15 June 1974) is an Indian music composer and singer. He works for Tollywood films. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – Telugu for the film Satyam (2003).
Chakri was born in Mahabubabad, Warangal district, Telangana. He has one brother and three sisters.

Chakri has composed music for around 85 movies so far. He started his career as music director with the movie Bachi directed by Puri Jagannadh. As a composer he introduced many new talents (Singers and Lyricist). He won best singer award for Sathyam in the Tollywood Filmfare Awards and a Nandi Award for Simha.
He is generally considered to have hits in the month of January, which is considered to be Sankranthi (a Telugu festival) season in Andhra Pradesh. This is due to movies such as Devadasu (2006), Desamuduru (2007), Krishna (2008) and Maska (2009) in straight years during Sankranthi. Chakri died on 15th December 2014.
